Title: new to me K75C
Post by: gkanai on September 04, 2021, 06:27:20 AM
Hi all, new to the forum and new to BMWs.

I just picked up a K75C at auction with less than 10K kms. I got it for a song too.

I've always wanted a K75 but never had the opportunity and this one was too cheap to pass up. It will need a lot of work but that's part of the fun.

I'd love guidance on:

* tires
* suspension (I'm a big guy)
* where to buy BMW luggage?
* replace all the rubber bits?
* anything else I should be considering
* what vendors/sites I should be using or staying away from

I'm ok with doing my own oil changes and minor maintenance but have a specialist BMW shop near me that works on older R and K bikes that I will also rely on.

Thanks in advance for any guidance.

Welcome, gkainai! Your moto is a classic.

Start a thread in the Projects Classic Motobricks section as you work on your restoration so we can follow along. Answers to just about all your questions concerning obstacles and challenges in your work have been answered already. Guidance for searching the site is in the Search Guidance section but your likely to get a response to any question any time you raise it.

Imgur is a decent image host but the problem with offsite hosts is when account holders allow their accounts to lapse, or the host has problems, the images drop from posts here. There are many examples on the site where photos by members in detailed procedural threads have disappeared. Motobrick's image host is the best way to go. Start a personal gallery; instructions are on the site.

Good luck with your restoration.

Good luck with your restoration.

Thank you for the guidance. I will start a new project thread and will use the Motobrick host.
