Title: Greeting from Maine
Post by: jessezack on July 19, 2021, 11:01:40 AM
Hello Brickers, Jesse from Maine. I have been lurking around the site for years but just formally joined. Currently riding a sweet 95 k1100rs that I bought about six years ago.

Welcome, Jesse! Thanks for the photo. Tell us more about your moto—mileage, whether purchased outright, traded for flour, calico or bitcoin, or won in a watermelon seed spitting contest, and where you've been on it.

My mileage on the RS is about 65k. Got it with about 25k on it. I’m reluctant to call either of those odometer numbers accurate as the Speedo reads noticeably slow (maybe a fix for the future).  Bought it for $3500 from a nice guy a couple hours north of me. By previous bike (black 92 k75s) was my first bike, and succumbed to the sprag gear fatality. I loved that bike,  it didn’t know enough about wrenching Ks back then so sold her to a guy who revived her by drilling a hole and flushing. Anyway, the K1100rs has been a great bike, got it in great shape, and try to keep it that way. Have taken it as far as NYC, but my preferred routes are through the Kangamangus and White Mountains of NH. Next project on it is to take the high/low/pass switch off to see why the headlight goes out sometimes until I tap the switch a bit.

:welcome Jesse! Very neat bike you got there! I've always been fond of K1100RS's, probably going to be my next bike  :laughing1:. I've recently joined the forum too a couple months back, I'm sure you'll find everything you need here.

Best!

Seb

get thee to Madawaska and take a photo at the NE corner of USA, one of the "4 Corners" then you'll be compelled to visit the other 3.
