Tire changeover using the zip-tie method, a quick brake pad change then back to the road rills, gullies and pothole fields my Brick calls Home. :laughing4-giggles: A bath in the afternoon, probably.
I need to change the tire on my K11. I was going to take it to a local guy but I may try to do it myself , if I can get the wheel off. Took the bolts out and couldn't get the wheel to budge??? Never had this issue before. Is wheel removal on the 1100 different?
Are those hose clamps on your gaiters? I used the zip ties that came with mine.

Might just be stuck by a bit of corrosion if you took all the lug bolts off. I assume you took the caliper off, etc. Might need a little tap with your fist at the outer diameter a la Fonzie..

It wouldn't budge , even banging on it with a rubber mallet !

It's an old story, beemuker. To loosen seized parts, heat, penetrant, and knocking with a deadblow mallet or hammer often frees them. The wheel has a spacer behind it. Heat that area with a hair dryer or heat gun, soak it with liquid wrench, tap around the wheel with a mallet or hammer, drink a demitasse of cuban coffee, return and knock it a few times; it should release it. Repeat if necessary until you're so wired by coffee you need hospitalization. Keep control of the wheel while you knock it so it doesn't runaway when it releases and then damage something or someone.

. That may be my problem. I've not had a brick that had a center bolt and was unsure if it needed to be removed.
