Title: K75S Clutch Lever Switch - How to remove?
Post by: Davidoff on April 10, 2021, 01:51:17 PM
Hi am I missing a trick but I'm struggling to remove the clutch lever switch from the lever assembly? I can't get onto the hex head.  Is there a special tool or technique to do this?

Needle nose pliers to grasp the hex body, and turn counter clockwise to crack open the threads and start unthreading. Once released, then twist carefully with the cable assembly counter clockwise to remove the switch.

is this the switch you are referring to
part #  61 31 1 459 569

can someone explain what is the point of this switch exactly?

edit.
should have googled before i posted

"the clutch switch works in conjuction with your neutral safety switch. If the bike is in gear, you have to pull the clutch in for it to start. This prevents you from starting your bike in gear. The clutch switch overrides the neutral safety switch."

The purpose of the switch is to allow the starter switch to power the starter relay. The switch parallels the transmission gear indicator neutral safety circuit board so that if the transmission is not in neutral, you can start the bike with the clutch engaged.
