we rolled early... full electrics blazing for the 110 mile slabb down the 5...
we fueled at the mobile station on otay lakes rd and ca 125... ca 125... a freaking toll road of all things... boo...
we rolled ca 94 to campo and stopped at the campo store... it was not open yet and we didnt want to wait the additional 1/2 hour... this is why we stopped... (http://pashnit.com/forum/showthread.php?t=13019&highlight=campo)

border fence... this place was crawling with border patrol... the rs motobrick was intimidating to them... they left us alone...

it was a windy moe up there... we could see the chocolate mountains across the imperial valley... it would be spectacular on a clear day...

we rolled the 80 to the la posta diner where we enjoyed fine company of old folks who without them we would not be enjoying the freedom and liberty that we do today...

we rolled the 80 to kitchen creek road... discovered it turns to dirt and is gated a ways up... so... not a through road... o well...
we filled up in pine valley and headed to borrego springs on the sunrise highway to the 78 to the 79 to yaqui pass...

by the time we got to sweeper madness... montuzuma road... the sun was directly in our eyeballs... so i said to the passenger... put down that camera and hold on... yeeeeeeeeeeeef inghaaaasaaaa....
figured we were gonna run out of light out in the sticks if we went up palomar so we opted to take the 79 to the 15 to the ortega and back on the 5...
it was dark by the time we got to san juan capistrano... so all was good... all 400+ 2 up miles of it... ..
on the 79 just past the 371 we encountered a parade of cars at 35mph... some were getting a little pissed... come to find out the hold up was a 50 something man on a vespa... we finally got close enough where we could see this fool...
he was oblivious to what was going on... he never looked in his mirrors... he didnt use the turnouts... he followed the right tire track between 30mph and 40mph for miles... in the turns he would wobble... he was wearing a beanie helmet and a flannel shirt with jeans and tennis shoes...
there was a short stretch where the fog line went wide right opening up a short right lane and everyone trained past him as he hugged the left tire track... he was caught out there in the no lane right lane and stopped before he merged into a pissed off train of rednecks heading home from a weekend in the sandbox...
