Title: lifting the K100LT with a MC lift

Hi, I'll replacing all fluids, pulling wheels and the drive shaft and rebuilding the forks and would like to lift the bike off the ground.
Is it possible to lift a 87 K100LT with the Craftsman MC lift? If it can be done, where is the balance point for lifting it?

The balance point is the oil pan itself.  Luckily the LT doesn't have a lower fairing like the K75S for example.  However, lifting by the oil pan makes changing the oil very difficult.

You'll still need to use straps to secure the bike to the lift to prevent a tip-over.

After working on the lift set-up for this bike for the better of the last two days I think I have it figured out.
Tomorrow I need to do a little more cutting and grinding of some plate steel and I'll let you know how it works.

Well, I got it. I'm able to lift the bike with the adapter plate I made and when it's strapped down the bike is rock solid and not going anywhere.

LOL, okay, these are a couple of pictures I took while I was figuring out what I needed to do.
Tomorrow, I'll post a couple more now that I have it welded up and painted with a coat of paint that will make placing the plate under the bike. Since the bottom of the bike is black I used white paint so it will stand out under the bike. I think it will help in lining it up.
