While I don't use my Bricks in this vid, the challenge of learning to mount a brick tire are similar and perhaps useful to some other pauper like me in the asylum. In truth, Battlax T30s or the like are a good measure less stressful to do, but nevertheless learning this job was not at all easy for me. I hope you enjoy.
Those who know me haven't seen the new to us GL1800. Josh graduated welding school last May so rather than a welder, flowers or cash I scored him an upgraded ride for what I consider a ridiculous fee only to be divulged on pain of death....ok 4300 bought a $hit load of Honda bling. I literally wept after the test ride, I've wanted one for ages. I thought the 1200 had no equal after spending time on a 1500, but this 1800 blows me away every ride, that is every time I can steal the key when the kids not looking.....
Cheers to you all,despite what I testified in court under oath, Im thankful for the Motobrick fraternity- Laich too...ok especially Laitch.

I invested in a $50 set of Motion Pro bead breaker bars that double as stout spoons, they perform as advertised, Im not sure how many zip ties a breaker bar makes. I am skeptical I could get the sidewall of a GL1800 spec Bridgestone Excedra G704 rear tire to collapse like that. I believe the breaker bars or some bead break tool were worth the green when working solo (short of raising a heavy weight to a college degree,- (he stands on the leeward side to get the beads deep into the center well of the wheel).

I used zip ties for front and back of a CBR and my several K's, didn't work with the Ural very well because the tires are so narrow. Harbor freight has 10 packs of 24" zip ties for $1.79 so cost isn't a big deal. Even using tire irons it does get easier after couple tires, I use simple green in a spray bottle as a lube. And after a couple MC tires even the stubbornest bicycle tire is a breeze!

Back in the day when I changed them with tire irons, I used the scissor jack under the car to break the bead.

For motorcyle tires i use a largs C clamp and a few pieces of wood. Seems to work well.
