This one hurts, but I must sadly part with the bike that was responsible for getting me back on 2 wheels after a 15 year hiatus....for I have fallen for a younger, faster bike, and my wife has a strict motorcycle to cat ratio of 1:1. I don't want more cats in our 850 sqft house, so here we are.....
She's a 1992 BMW K75 RT, but as you can see by the pics, the original RT fairing and pieces are no longer on the bike. The previous previous owner stripped the fairings and the ABS computer. The owner after them but before me bought the bike for his wife to learn on; they happen to be my neighbors, and that's how I got the bike. She rode it to Oregon and California in 2018, and before that he went through the fuel system and replaced basically everything in the tank, as well as the fuel pressure regulator.

When I got the bike, it was a little rougher than I wanted, so I set about fixing and sorting out the problems with her. Work I did includes:
New tires (Metzler Lasertec front, Shinko Tourmaster rear) 7/19
7" LED headlight and front turn signals added, including rear facing "side markers," bulb monitor unit modified to eliminate hyperflash. 7/19
Replaced gauge cluster with a working unit; new cluster reads 61,000 less than actual of about 85,000. 3/20
Rebuilt front brake calipers with new EBC pads. 5/20
Non-functional ABS pumps, lines, and brackets deleted. Front lines converted to pre-'91 K splitter tube down the steering stem. 3/20
Galfer wave rotors and stainless steel front lines. 3/20
Air filter and crankcase breather hose replaced 3/20
RT handlebar replaced with Renthal 7/8" "low" bar and new grips. Clutch, choke, and throttle cables from K100RS used for proper lengths. 3/20
YSS Topline shock, adjustable for preload and rebound, fitted. $400! 6/20
Secondhand Parabellum "Scout" fairing in correct color code paint added 6/20
Additionally, I sourced a set of color-matching BMW "Integral" bags; all latches have been re-riveted, and the same key opens all locks on the bags. The ignition key is good for the ignition and fuel tank only. The bags also come with a set of very 90's (and almost new appearing) BMW bag liners that fit the bags perfectly.
Mechanically, this bike is pretty well-sorted. She fires immediately, and runs well. The gearbox is typically clunky, but shifts well and doesn't pop out of gear or anything. The only thing I know the bike will need at some point is a new rear main engine seal, at which point you'll have the splines lubed and the clutch (maybe) replaced. Never a spot of oil on the ground under the bike, but there is some oil buildup where the engine and trans meet.... I don't know when the splines were lubed last, so better to do them this winter along with that seal than not.
Chips, scuffs, scratches? Yeah, she's got them. Has she been down before? Sure, but never out. My neighbor definitely had some learning experience on her, but she hasn't been down in my stewardship. There is a split seam in an otherwise supremely comfy aftermarket seat (Russell maybe?). The seat is the factory low seat setup, so almost anyone can flat foot this baby at a stop. This bike wears her scars proudly, and presents well when waxed and washed.
She's a sweet ride, she just needs a new rider to take her off into the sunset. I've got her priced at $2250 OBO, and I'd love to get her sold by the end of this Labor Day weekend. I am only accepting cash for this bike; no trades, no checks, NO SCAMS. I'm happy to answer any and all questions that you may have; please feel free to DM me, and I'll give you my phone and email. I can deliver the bike to you as well for $100-$250 within 300 miles of Madison, WI depending on how close you are....

Thanks for all the help you've given me during my K-bike ownership; I'll be back, for sure.....Z
