Title: K75 S Handlebars...On an R65
Post by: edgeoftheworld on August 03, 2020, 03:55:01 PM
Not a ride report...and not really about a K bike but since I got the handlebars from this forum, I thought I'd share.  And in the first pic I made sure to include my K75S :)

I had replaced the OEM handlebars on my R65 with some low, narrow bars.  Then I stopped riding for a long time.  When I started riding again, I realized that those bars were damn uncomfortable!  I picked up a set of K75s bars here and they are a definite improvement.

Nice swap, I had an LS with the low bars, don't remember them as being uncomfortable but that was 35 years ago!

When I put a pair of RS bars on my RT I had a guy weld 3.5 inches onto them. I couldn't believe how narrow the bars were. They are still not as wide as the bars on my Guzzi Breva 1100 but are very comfortable. I'm sure the engineers had a good reason for having the bars so narrow...but my Evel Knievel days are long gone!! (and I bet some of the young guys have no idea who I'm talking about....Google him!!)

Yeah, the old low bars are so narrow.  The K75S bars also allowed me to put on bar end weights that wouldn't fit with the other bars so the bars now are probably 4 or 5 inches wider than the old ones.  Makes the front end feel lighter and easier to maneuver now.
