Title: WTB - Y-Spoke Front Wheel for 1986 K100
Post by: kris on July 23, 2020, 11:46:00 PM
Looking for a front wheel for my '86 K100 - would go 3-spoke if I had to. Good condition. Must be completely true. Please contact me and we'll talk. Thanks!

This set of wheels have been up for sale for months. I'm not close, but not far, if you really needed them, I would consider getting them and shipping them for you.

Hey Paul, thanks for your very kind offer. I am only after the front wheel and I'm pretty sure that front wheel won't line up with my bike. The bolt pattern for the rotors is quite different. I appreciate the thought! Hope you and family are safe in the Windy City!

Here's one on eBay that is up in Montreal with free shipping:

It looks to be in pretty good shape and has what might be good brake rotors as well.  Being black, it won't match the rear wheel without a paint job on one of them.  I'd do the rear to match.

Thanks Jim. Ouch on the price! But I made him an offer. We'll see.

What’s your location? I’ve got some k100rs wheels from an 1988 2v bike.

Hi K_Grendell, I'm in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada...about 40 miles southwest of Toronto. 70 minutes to Buffalo, NY. Where are you? Thanks so much for your reply.

Chris

Hey Kris,

Would you be interested in an entire 1985 K100RS? Its a nice looking good runner with good rubber, except its in need of a final drive.
Not too far away, north east of Toronto.

Hey Pike,
I'm good in that department, thanks. 3 bikes in the barn is my limit! I appreciate the ask. Just need a wheel...

OK Buddy,

If you find one that comes with a FD, give me a shout.
Was that your bright yellow K bike I saw in Southampton last summer?

No, but we have a place in Southampton. So you might see me on a naked K100 (pale greenish colour...whatever they call it) or a beautiful black Moto Guzzi!

I'll keep my eyes peeled for a Pond Scum K! I'm usually up there frequently, but this year has been different.
I've been coveting Guzzis and R bikes lately.

Was considering boxers when I was looking but I'm so glad I found the Breva 1100 instead. A little rarer, a little prettier (imho) and some Italian quirkiness thrown in for good measure. And the suspension....don't get me started! 112350

Laitch, my girl Heinz (don't laugh) took great exception to you referring to her paint as "Pond Scum". A quick search for the German description for Farbe Nummer 617 revealed "DIAMANTGRAU" as the correct name - Diamond Grey for the uni-lingual. Now I would never have guessed that as being her colour but I'm not about to argue with The Creator!

Thanks to those who replied regarding my front wheel request. A generous member from the Boston area has come to the rescue! Happy trails....
