Title: Chasis Wiring Harness needed
Post by: asafl on June 08, 2020, 11:24:28 AM
Hello.

So few days ago I stop and wait for a green light, and the bike shuts down. I try to start - nothing. Then - smoke comes under the gas tank. I pull the bike off road, and start seeing flames coming out. I take the key out of the switch and run to get an extinguisher. Suddenly I head the bike get ignited alone. Fun. We pull the battery off and powder the entire bike.

In the garage, we lift the gas tank and see all the damage. I think I need the wiring harness - and probably the relays.

Would appreciate any insight on this - any parts recommended to have in hand to make sure fix is not as long, to understand (maybe!) the source of this mess and basically anything a smarter more experienced individual than me can assist with.

On the PN side, my chasis number (VIN?) is WB1051306F0041094 and I believe the PN for the harness is 6-11-11-459-140.

Please assist, if you can :)

Thanks!
Asaf.

I'll guess the insulation on one of the positive wires (not protected by a fuse) was worn, and made contact with say the frame, causing a short.

It is simple and easy to install a circuit breaker so that if something like that happens again, it will trip rather than burn.

I'll guess the fuel sender unit O-ring was at fault along with it the associate 4pin connector. You lucky no BADA BOOM
