Title: Quieting a remus exhaust??
Post by: herseyb on March 09, 2020, 12:44:59 PM
Dang ole muffler fartin around town loud as hell at 3,000 RPMs when I am going 30MPH in town, and then quiets at 4,000 RPM once I am back on the highway.

I don't mind if it opens up a little on the highway, but nobody ever got turnt on by an inline 4 grumbling through their neighborhood like a poorly tuned toyota supra.

Dang ole aftermarket exhaust on my k1100rs mang, stock k75 exhaust was perfect, putter around like a sewing machine through towns and then turbinejet mode once you hit the highway.

I don't need any old look at me noise and I wouldn't pick an inline 4 if I did.

Anybody ever use anything like this?

Nice. And then some people are talking about just inserting a length (4" or so) of straight pipe in the back with no baffles in it cuts out the bass.

I have read that changes in back pressure can fuck your shit up if you're not careful, but don't have the knowledge the know when this actually becomes an issue to an engine.

I sold my Remus after also being embarrassed when riding through town.  Replaced it with a 2V stock K100 exhaust.
