Title: New owner K100RS 1985
Post by: Andrew1 on January 10, 2020, 11:54:26 PM
Hey all

New user, just bought my first 1985 k100RS yesterday.

Intention was to buy something to rebuild engine.

Got it home and checked it out today. Started and runs but blowing oil which also started leaking from exhaust 2 and 3. Coolant very oily (fluid in green bucket). Haven't been able to remove plugs, need correct size socket. Also started blowing some whiter smoke once warmed up - so guessing head issues.

Engine rebuild is first task which will probably take me a few months. Also want to add some newer injection and suspension technology.

Welcome Andrew, sounds like you're already capable at the workbench and talk "torque" ;), so this should be a fine upcoming winter project. The bricks are amazingly easy to work on compared to other makes. *I'd also start tearing into the tank to take a peel. Good Luck
