Well one of the things I have found with the project bikes I been working on is a number of parts that freeze or rust up on a K bike that been sitting around for years, one of them is the horn(s). I have two 91 K100 RS that sat for years and none of the horns work on the bikes. the replacement part 02 61 33 7 163 975 HORN - FIAMM 510HZ are $49.65 a pop. I found this part https://www.ryderfleetproducts.com/fiamm-72343-22/horn-electric-high-note-w-adapter-p-t37-7234322, Fiamm Horn electric high note w/adapter - 72343-22 for $6.15 that I was able to install in the stock position on a the 91 K100 RS. I can't tell you that it sounds the same as the stock one since I don't have a working one, but this horn was plenty loud enough that I am only going to use one on the bike instead of two that were installed on it.
It is hard to install a horn in the stock place on a RS with the fairing on, but I was able to do it by removing the side pad and the temp gauge.
The new horn is on the right in both pictures, it is slightly smaller then the stock one. It comes with a number wiring adapters, the one with male spade tips work perfectly with the stock horn wires.

Awesome. Horn's are a great inexpensive upgrade to make, and likewise, I prefer the snail horn (Fiamm Freeway Blaster 133dB, F72112) over disk design. Make's it fun to give a wee toot to car's your passing while the driver's on the cell.

High and Low horns work best together: something about each frequency complements the other without being super loud.

+1 Very true. Single tone sounds like a clown car.

After my Stebel airhorn stuffed up I first fitted a Stebel Magnum Low. I didn't think it was as good as the airhorn, so I fitted a Stebel Magnum High. It's now pretty well on par with the airhorn. Definitely better in pairs.

High and Low horns are tuned to produce a dissonant 3rd note that is more noticeable because of the dissonance. The sum of the two horns is a little less than 3db louder which is a barely audible increase, and yet it's more easily heard.
Trivia: I have heard that F is one of the most popular notes that automotive horns are tuned to. I don't know for a fact, but the second would probably be tuned to a B. Maybe someone with more musical knowledge could chime in(no pun intended) on this.
