Title: Bringing black drive line parts back to glossy finish
Post by: SDCR john on November 17, 2019, 10:04:43 AM
I bought a 94 K75 in earlier this year. Having ridden it throughout the season, I am in the process of doing some maintenance.

One of the things I want to do, is to bring the engine, trans, differential components, back to their original "glossy black finish". After a full season of riding, these black parts have taken on a dull, flat shade of black.

Anyone here have a product that you would recommend, or a technique that works well?

If it is not too severe, use the Harley stuff. If it is, the Krylon is a good match to OEM.

I have been recently been using Mako Oil. I don't know whether you can get it in the US. The Harley show and shine guys were going nuts over it at the local annual show. So far no problem with attracting cats.https://www.makooil.com.au/

Thanks guys, I think I will try the HD stuff, as it is readily available. My finish is still good, just a little dull.
