Title: Progressive Rear Shock
Post by: ExpatAussieBrick on October 03, 2019, 02:02:41 PM
Hey guys,

Would any of you consider buying this shock? My 92 K75S still has the stock shock from the factory on it and it's crap.

Bottoms out on NYC pot holes often especially two up.

Hard to say if this shock is an absolute bargain or if it's junk. Trying to replace my shock on a very tight budget.

Alternatively looking at this one but it's still $200 with shipping only $99 less than a brand new one from Bobs BMW.

Are you advertising a shock for sale? Of not, you are posting in the wrong spot.

Right. No i'm not advertising a rear shock, looking for an opinion on one. I will move this to the workshop.

FYI - I love my ICON rear shock I bought at Bob's BMW two months ago.  Sooooooo much better than the OEM shock I crossed the continent on.

IKON = KONI
I've been told that when KONI got out of the motorcycle shock business they sold the designs and it became IKON.

I have a Hagon on my K1100 and it is kind of meh.  The following is all apples and oranges because these bikes are twin shocks.  I have Progressive on my Suzuki GS850 and they are ok.  I have Ikon on my R60/5 and they are really good.  Generally my feeling is go with Ikon.

The shocks in OP both look like the bottom of the line progressive replacements.  There are several better progressive shocks for these bikes.  Can't just compare brand vs brand without identifying the model of the shock.
