Title: access to photos
Post by: koapono on September 28, 2019, 04:35:41 PM
hey admin!!!!
When viewing posts, not all but many, and I try and click on link to picture I am denied.
Instead I get little blue squares with a question mark in the center in lieu of a picture?
When I click the square I get a message saying I don't have permission to view that particular file.
This even happens on postings I've submitted.
I have found no reference to this problem.
Have I been dis-associated or is it some technical glitch on my end?
thanks

that IS a pitiful geezer!
I see the pics you attached from my gallery.
I cannot see pic in my photographic ride report: midatlantic meander.
I also cannot see pics posted in motobrick workshop: K75 vibrations there is a reply from latch and rsegraves (pardon misspell)
I see a blue square with  question mark in center.
just trying to see if I'm the problem or I do indeed lack some sort of permission.
thanks J

Here, I see two profiles of a popo cart and one photo a bed-ridden hitchhiker. I see kaopono's trip log in the meander thread. I'm using a decrepit Mac with out-of-date 10.8.5 OSX using an out-of-date version of Firefox—48.0.2.

I see all three pics using a semi smart old phone.  I'll have to upgrade to a computer so I can save a favorite folder,  and so I'm not looking at stuff through a keyhole size view.

must be me! or my unit: MacBook Air using safari. maybe I have some weird security setting going on only triggered by motobrick content or as my spouse says: scooter-porn.
I'll take a look and thanks to all for weighing in

I'm also using a MacBook Air running the latest MacOS and Safari.  I see the pics jonny posted.

The only issue is one that was discussed before - smileys now look like this:

The only issue is one that was discussed before - smileys now look like this: :1thumb up
The reason many smileys in past posts look like that is a decision was made somewhere upstream to replace many of the previous group of more subtle, expressive smileys with the group of stoned thugicons now available. Only the code of the previous smileys shows up because now there is no image for them to access.
