thanks all good information, 1987 K75 while showing my bike for sale the ignition light and power became intermittent, lights go out, and if on the start button will break the circuit, tried rebuilding ignition switch but broke it, replaced with new but same thing, even worse now that the new switch is connected. no power to ignition. Help!!!!

I'm not great with mechanical things or electrical for sure, but guessing if I jumped two wires on the ignition switch connector under the gas tank that would prove the problem is not from the connector to the key switch that I just replaced, yes. anyone know what color wires to test?

Red is the supply battery power.
Green is the wire to the r.h. kill switch(then fuse #1), load shed relay coil, and other components related to the ignition system.
Grey goes to fuse #2 then to BMU,
Grey/Blue is for headlight, park lighting.
When the switch is in the "P" position, Red is connected to Grey for park lighing.
When the switch is then in the "I" position Red is connected to Green, and Grey is connected to Grey/Blue.

Thanks Scott,

I have a (hidden) flip switch instead of the keyed ignition switch on the "91. It too is on the "To Do" list once I have it all undressed next time.

So I replaced my ignition switch with a new one, in on position for lights, nothing, in I position I get lights only, no ignition. tested for twelve volts from red to other three wires 12v every where, bad switch? I'm going out to jump switch!
