Right blinker isn't working. Left blinker works fine. I can hear that the right blinker control is activating the relay. It clicks once and doesn't do anything... It doesn't light up or nothing. I took the relay apart and I can see both relay coils engaging with the hazard lights, but only the left side activates appropriately. I also get no indicator on the instrument cluster for the right side.
All the bulbs are good, I switched them all around. I also have checked the connector under the tank. Where should I look next?

I figure it is the relay... after opening it up and banging around on the relay as the turn signal was activated, it would blink for half a second and turn off again... did this a couple times but never started working on the right side... i doubt if this is repairable?

Hello from Mid Alabama.
Not really sure, but you may be able to clean contacts as I know the starter relay can be cleaned.
I don’t think the cleaning lasts too long, so replacement is probably the best move.
Did you try moving the relay from the 85 into the 88 to see if that fixes it?
One of the great things about having two similar bikes.

It's repairable. There is probably a cold solder joint on the circuit board that has gone intermittent. Use a magnifying glass, good lighting and a soldering iron to seek out suspected solder joints on the board. Reheat them to reflow the solder. Adding a bit of new solder to the joint while reheating, or using electronic grade soldering flux, will improve the final joint. Bet you this will restore your flasher relay.
