I’m at a loss. I’ve just about got my 89 K100 RS back together, but I can’t figure out what the smaller spring in the middle attaches to. It isn’t showing up on any of the parts catalogs or repair manuals I’ve found. Anyone know what this is/does?(http://)

Sorry about the sideways photo. It was oriented properly when I uploaded it.

The photos are from the Max BMW online parts fiche (https://shop.maxbmw.com/fiche/DiagramsMain.aspx?vid=51752&rnd=07242017).

Unless the photo is taken in the default position of your phone's camera, it will need to be reoriented on a computer before submission or submitted using this site's photo gallery software and reoriented before posting. Either way is easier than motorcycle wrenching. :giggles

Totally misread the post, and thought "My God, poor guy's been screwed every spring for 3 years!"
Glad it's a simple fix, and you'll be motoring along :)
