Title: missing peices
Post by: Joethejedi on May 13, 2019, 09:03:45 PM
Hey everyone new here, I recently got a 85 k100 from my dad that he had sitting for quite awhile, he had taken the battery out and seams to have lost the boxes that go above it along with what I understand is the fuel injection unit but I'm not sure I cant find any pictures of it online. So what plugs in here?

Greetings, and welcome!

The fiche at MaxBMW is your friend:

https://shop.maxbmw.com/fiche/partsfiche.aspx

and the part you're missing is your Jetronic or Motronic control unit. It's an important one, but the good news is, lots of K's are sitting in parts nowadays and you have an interesting project in your future!

Get the last 7 numbers of the VIN and go to this site:

https://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/select

You will get a parts list with ALL the correct part numbers for your bike.

eBay is your friend.  Sooner or later everything you need shows up there.  There are bike breakers who list there that you can contact for parts that may not be listed.

the 85 had some parts unique to that year, so double check parts #'s.  Found this: https://www.ebay.com/itm/85-92-BMW-K100RS-K100-RS-CDI-ECU-Igniter/292079544941?hash=item44014c2a6d&enc=AQADAAAC4FjVrDbVsZ8oH%2F8PNHtt9VX4%2Fw7FZcmMuqsX8uaFEduVhmCZ7DxrjlP3f4zmVMP3TuJxMkXOPaXEWqNB0mygs5NZgnEWvRKxw3aHNUspIWJkkjZWenW0VaidbeILwOfa5RVDcSsUVbFFA8MxJUAnhMyNq4ru%2BHdIVwCyFwkf4OvkUJlF47pSdSNen%2FJkdyxdd4lc56H%2FH91VwderAc5vOzqF4eCmPwEe6kCWgEF0HVZ0YqoUPiRJ699b6Ga6v4toZlc5vNthZLOSm%2F7hn0RqiBBsU0KhdYpwY4BcR0kej06XQGHWO3oHpb%2FdpkZRVzlKERehp92ZsVpSkocQEbvLUHLtJGy8w%2FU3wUHwsGPrLs3zq5BZIBlgauF1Sfsh%2BUsdDOUiJs7rM%2B5105loG8zYrMCseP62kbwGKjZxU3vj4xvMf7Rm9NwnrqtXhEK3rHiZUrWpfqCzCTinlQuZq2qyMlvaFa1IqrZ3sz3fcljV52tytQbMxUX281Q8mMmcm4NsQKwSIrkFieeEJHjxny87%2FX7ZznL%2FSxJE28aMbm89%2BSlY8%2BAP3iwmOk1RgR85hnZF%2F%2FrjeQEemIPryiTh2oAoKmo7a%2BbeZsJsYPVj%2FqRuzK9p2B7ZFf%2F7AtkUnMFCI%2FaoickKrbjakyRo0HGAqf8BL6BusFHH8nDQ2XG2vzE3QNEmMwDGEKW5ZXouffdwgn4Sm3fn9%2FT10z0r6XRppkAV%2B3JuCtslUitDtiNv2SVg9zOEPhN8ChNAPoTNFmGFSDoEVRwATicEgm0dn9q8BsCPzZdswKW9Pvg0hZeCRYMuse8rigRykq7D7bchbiHJWItzXwrK9gDbgQWoH8zsvfI7PTSQKmg6u%2FUvbr1icWURK1pTVD0tcMTy2IHTSvgbEyCADHDQh%2Ba3WEMDBDZp%2BZ1YZliF5LePTWOhYdqLbD%2FGqKhuEKz5mv%2BnVeV02r7yIl7UAlWssHltFpTM5eUaJgjnZow%3D&checksum=292079544941f77b2b6b46d54c51b530dc45b7aa48f1  Damn that's a long address!

This may be the box your big connector is yearning to meet.

Checking the MaxBMW parts Fiches it looks like p/n 13 61 1 460 950 is used on all the 2V K100's from 1984 on so this unit should work for you.

Contact the seller and offer to pay any difference for shipping to Canada.  I think the cost is a couple bucks higher.  If he won't ship direct, you can have him ship to me, and I can send it on to you.  Where are you located?  I have a couple windshields in the garage I need to deliver to Toronto.

You might want to consider making your location more specific in your profile.   Canada is pretty big, but there are a number of folks up there who hang out here.

Don't know about prices where you are,  but over here a private add at that price would typically have no bids,  and 100 is still a respectable offer. Plus gives you time to help find the one your bike has. Often a bike parts box.
