I had a bit of an absence from here for various reasons you guys don't need to know.
Anyone I was PMing with about buying stuff - I apologize. Life got in the way, as it does.
Anyhoo. I have christened my Brick the Frankenbeemer. And it's alive!
Starts, runs, drives. Latest things done to it was replacement of the cover bolt seals and a new crankcase seal - they were leaking. Also, an oil change and a wash to get rid of ghosts of leaks past.
I don't have any sidecovers yet, kinda debating buying vs. making.
Also, noticed when doing the oil that the bike has a decided starboard list on the centerstand. I think the stand is wonky. Need to look into that.

Also, I got a hold of this bit of awesome.
I think I will have to pull front half of the air duct for it to work. Also, it needs brackets. I haven't been able to find any, might have to make some.
If anyone knows where they might exist, let me know.

I'm not positive, because I have not seen that radiator cowl before, but I suspect you need a K75C tank with a couple of pins at the front that the cowl hangs on.
I just bought one of those tanks to get a fuel level float, and will be selling the tank after I get the level sensor out. If indeed you need it, I can make you a decent deal on it.

If you replace your center stand, get the later type that is not made from bent tubing.

You might be right. I thought it was a bracket bolted to the radiator, but that looks about correct.

If they are otherwise the same size, that sounds like a swell idea. Bike is headed towards being black anyway.

Looks like your radiator cowl has sockets for the pins on the front of the C model tank.
When it gets here later this week I'll take some good photos and make sure it's in good usable shape. The photos I've seen of the interior look clean. I know it has some scratches and chips in the paint but no dents, and one of the badges is gone. It's going to need a paint job. I'm pretty sure it will work on an RT frame.

I remember seeing that thing on Max's fiche, when I was a K-bike newbie, and getting all excited about it. (My K100 came to me with all its bodywork long gone.) But I've never seen one, IRL or offered for sale. It's cool to see one out in the wild.

It really isn't bad, considering it's a body part for a bike long out of production.

So, my new oil sight glass came in just in time for me to realize that the original is not only too cloudy for me to see the oil clearly, but also leaking.
This pressure washing the bike thing is amazing.

This pressure washing the bike thing is amazing.
You should be careful with pressure washers, as they can force water into places that water wouldn’t normally go...just saying...

Put in the new glass.
The old one was pretty loose - I just popped it out with a pocket knife, didn't even have to pry much at all.
I'm not sure if the oil pan gasket is leaking or not. Might do another wash to make sure.

Fixes of the day:
Resolved the highly annoying brake squeal from the front.
Turned out brake pads on one side were delaminating from the backing plates. Looks like plates rusted and the liners were peeling. New pads all around, and brakes are quiet.
Rear pads are a PITA - the shock is in the way of getting the pins out.
Also, replaced the stand with one that is straight and not the bent pipe style. Marvel at my highly technical setup for holding the bike up.
The original stand the bike came with is on the floor for comparison.

As an added bonus, my stands don't rattle going over bumps any more. Found that out on the ride to work this morning.

So, with the tank graciously supplied by Gryph, I was able to attach the side panels.
The bottom of the right-hand panel is something that will need a bit of figuring out, but it stays on with the peg and grommet.
In the process of transferring tank guts I found out why my low fuel light was wonky - the hose to the pump was about twice as long as it needed to be, and was catching the float. Also, vent hose wasn't connected and the gas cap was on backwards.

So, I took a deep breath and hacked up my dashboard for the Carling switches. They are actually a pile of work to fit in, not even close to OEM.
Maybe not the best job, but this isn't a show queen.
The thing on the left is a combined USB charger/voltmeter, wired to the accessory circuit. It's pretty low-power, so I didn't put an extra fuse in. The hazard switch isn't lighted. There is a third wire going to the OEM switch, but I don't know what it does, and I didn't want to do a bunch more wiring just so I can see it blink. The driving light switch isn't connected, as I haven't bought the lights yet. I just wanted to put it in so I didn't lose it in the meantime. The thing in the corner of that switch is a berry, not melted plastic... :D
