Title: K1100 Won't Crank

Battery is charged. Bike is in neutral with stand up. Makes a high-pitched whine when I hit the button, but the starter doesn't crank.

All solutions appreciated.

greetings...

1) when did it last run... 2) will it bump start... 3) did you back spin it... 4) take a video with sound and post it here so we can hear it... 5) could be starter spinning and not engaging or could be the sprag clutch needs a flush (http://bmwmotorcycletech.info/kstartersprag.htm) amoungst other things...

Starter isn't spinning. Not a sprag issue, at least not yet.

Ran in November.

Flat here. No bump start.

Tried backspin, moving in gear, and trying to make the starter advance a degree.

What happens with the lights(headlight, dash lights, etc...) when you hit the starter button.

has it been on a tender over the winter... or did you install a new battery this spring... or what...

have you serviced the 4 pin...

fully charged... what voltage off and voltage when you hit button...

need audio...

The battery's not the issue. I also tried jumper cables off a car.

Fuel pump spins but the starter doesn't.

Conflicting battery readings. Used a jumper box, and it fired up almost immediately after being parked since November.
