Title: factory tool kit contents?
Post by: schrocketeer on February 24, 2019, 12:04:46 AM
Would someone please post what was included in the original factory tool kits (bag, roll, etc.)?
Specifically I'm curious about a 1985 K100RT.
When I saw SAE (~English) sockets in the pack, I knew it wasn't all as it should be.

Go here, (https://shop.maxbmw.com/fiche/DiagramsMain.aspx?vid=51754&rnd=07242017) click on 71-Equipment Parts in the menu and then click on one of two diagrams for the tool lists. There were two sizes of tool rolls offered.

I don't know about other owners, but I have added the following to my standard issue tool kit:

- Set of metric 1/4" drive sockets with 3" & 6" extensions
- Set of metric ball end Allen wrenches
- Four in one screwdriver
- small Vise Grips

I think it's not unusual to find tools that a previous owner has added.  As far as SAE size wrenches, 7/16, 1/2, ad 9/16 are close enough to work on metric side bolt heads.
