How do I implement lower fairing vents/flaps on my '85 K100RT? I've ridden 6 months and 6k miles without the lower fairing. I've heard about the thigh burn/toaster that I would like to avoid next summer.
A previous worked to make an LT out of my RT, so if it just takes removal of a flap, it may have already been done.

My first thought was to suggest leaving the fairing off but I also rode the first six months without the lower fairing and the heat on my lower legs was noticeable. But maybe I've just gotten used to it, maybe put the fairings back on and see which you prefer. On my fairing the rearmost vent has a tab next to it with two bolt holes for a flap to direct the heat to the vent, if those flaps are missing on your bike you could just cut a piece of plastic to suit and bolt it on. My guess is it wouldn't make a noticeable difference. I don't understand your comment about the lt conversion but I don't no much about the lt anyway.

Try to find a set of "K Guards." They are tough to find as they are no longer made but they cure the heat problems on K100s. Pictures below.
