Title: K-1 four way flasher
Post by: David Ewing on October 16, 2011, 08:23:23 PM
So, at first, I'm thinking...no four way flasher, button does not "rock", so I take the left side panel off, and there are wires running to the , what I thought ,was a dummy switch...so I spray some WD-40 into the switch and free it so that it will now rock...success, the switch now works...BUT...now the right turn signal operates all the flashers, as if it was a "four way"...switch checks out ok, so looks like a new relay...but wait!...BMW wants $135.00 for part #61311459224! What the hey?...Help me out here, are there any alternatives?...Thanking you, the group, in advance, for any help you can provide...DEWING

Yes.  Check F. Duck's flasher web page.  I recently purchased an '87 K100RS and the turn signals did not work [properly].  It turned out to be that the #7 (?) fuse was missing.  Someone (the PO?) had put that fuse in the #4 spot.

I had to figure it out myself.  If I'da used the web site, it would have saved me some time and troubleshooting (I had an extra relay laying around to test with but could not be sure if _that_ relay was working either).
