Title: Turn signals
Post by: JPaganel on October 14, 2018, 03:00:13 AM
I noticed my rear turn signals are not the same. One is longer than the other and at a slightly different angle. I'm guessing previous owner replaced one with an incorrect one.

Is this a front vs. rear difference, or a different model of K difference?

Maybe it's an opposite side used upside down. How about posting some photos?

They both look to be right side up - the top is above the stem.  It's just that one stem is shorter than the other.

I'll take a picture when I get the chance.

When view from above, the rear signal housings are tapered where they mount to the rear cowl. The front signal housings are not tapered and extend further outward. The part numbers for rear signals are the same for K75, K100, and K1100; the front signal part numbers are the same for naked K75 and K100. The mounting pads are the same front and rear.

If your description is accurate, one of your rear turn signals is a front signal

That's what I thought.

The one that sticks out further is not angled like the shorter one, so that's probably the wrong one.
