Title: WTB - K75 driveshaft (20T) or 16T with final drive in good nick
Post by: szabgab on October 09, 2018, 02:00:43 PM
Dear all,

I am looking for a driveshaft for my 130k K75S, I have just bought in August. Ebay, local salvage yards, motobins is not produciong anything, or good enough stuff, also I would trust a forum member a lot more not to f... me over. So please send me an offer either PM or here. Your help would be very much appreciated, as my driveshaft is only miles away from chewing itself up :(

A thread, I have just started earlier on the theme -> http://www.motobrick.com/index.php/topic,11767.0.html

You're looking for DS & FD with disk, not drum, brake ... correct?

Hi Johnny, this would be sweet, but unfortunately will not fit my bike, as the shaft is of a different design...

Dear Ed,

I am ideally looking for the driveshaft only with 20T, but if that is not available, I might go for a DS-FD combo with 16T (I hopefully getting this right and the only difference between the shafts is the number of teeth at the FD end)... Oh yes, and it is a disc brake version.

I start to have nice pile of things at yours if you have something for me :D

Thank you!

Gabriel

Change your thread's title. You want and can use a  final drive and driveshaft from any K75 as long as it is a disc brake model. Putting '85 in the title limits your donor base.

Thanks Laitch for the clarification.  So all K75' s use a 20teeth driveshaft?  Is there any way,  I could use a 16teeth verdion by swapping the FD too?

Thank you!

Gabriel

If you want to sell a body part to finance it, Munich Motorcycles have a weld on replacement spline. You need to sit down for the price $255.50 Au. I must of got one of the last ones out of Motobins $100.00 Au. After I ordered it I picked up a brand new OEM shaft off Ebay for $190.00 Au. I don't know where all the others Brick owners where, I got it with one bid. Rare as unicorn poo in Oz I've never seen one before.
Regards Martin.

I'm not certain about all. Maybe the early ones had 16. If you've got 16 teeth on one, you need 16 teeth one the other. The fronts of joints of the shafts are the all the same. Remember, you want a final drive with disc brake, not drum brake.

Did you ever count all the splines on your moto's final drive or was the count interrupted when you were turned sideways?

:D Laitch, I lived in the UK for years, and flowery expressions, like those were the norm :) Anyway, just before I was done sideways (and suspended from the rafters afterwards) I counted the teeth on all sides, the FD and DS has got 20 and the u joint end of the driveshaft has got 16 The big fella approaching from the side had 3, but that does not count I guess :D

Shipping drive shaft to suzano Monday 10/15

Clayton, please do not send it to suzano, send it to me, szabgab instead :D

Joking aside Clayton helped me out a lot, hopefully I'll get the parts before my driveshaft kicks the dust. Now I will need to contact Johnny to find out, how he maganed to prolong the life of a driveshaft with a missing o ring...

Johnnie personally warrants this method for ten minutes /ten miles.  Not really..

What he described to me was with high quality electricians tape bind the u joint shaft where the dust seal had been , less dirt contamination, longer life.

Last rubber bit to be removed Sunday.  I’ve enjoyed our dialogues this week.  Cheers.

Same here. Also thanks for your consideration upon setting the price of the whole shebang, DS and all that rubbery stuff :)
