Well, after springing a fuel leak right at the fuel rail bend this spring, and being busier than ever with work and family, I finally got around to tearing apart my '92 K100RS and putting on a new fuel line.
I was ecstatic to find that I'd just filled the tank, so out came a jerry can from my Jeep and about 3 gals of fuel syphoned out... got to use my cool shake syphon, so there's a win for science.
Drained the tank, removed it, and fitted a new line. Easier than I thought it'd be, I should have done this months ago. Of course since I didn't keep it on the tender, I got to put in a new battery today, as well, so gutted her further.

Refilled the leaky front brake m/c (will need to rebuild that soon, just doing what the PO's did for 114k miles).

Now she starts, stops, and runs like before!
Love this 114k K-bike...

The 16 valve K100RS is a sweet machine when they are running right. I'm on my second one now, and it's finally coming into it's own and running like my old one did. I really like this late 80's technology. Hope you enjoy yours as much.

This is a $1700 ebay special I bought a few years ago out of Charlotte, NC, and had shipped to me in Auburn, AL.
It had 112k on it when I got it, and I've put about 1k/yr on it since I've had it - until the fuel line aged and cracked at the fuel rail, no issues other than a battery a year or so ago.
So far everything works. I'm told this highly modified and high mileage K100RS is a former Iron Butt bike, known as the "Pancake House Special". The PO/Builder loved pancakes, evidently, and loved to ride thousands of miles to get them. :-)
So far we're really loving this sport tourer!
Thanks for the reply!

My mobile office for the morning - local coffee shop next to the cafe.
I don't know how you do it up there in the North... you have great riding weather, but I'm hooked on southern BBQ, Dukes Mayo, Grits (as you mentioned), fried green tomatoes...
