Howdy I have the muffler heat shield, but PO couldn’t find any mounting hardware. The front rubber mount is there. Tried looking at guidance yet there’s minimal reference to these clips, nuts, mounts. The muffler has the receptacles on it. Any ideas? Thanks

Are all the caged nuts still intact on the muffler itself? If so, you can scrounge some M6 machine screws and wave washers to fasten on the heat shield.
If the cages are broken off, BMW used to offer repair kits similar to this: http://www.k100-forum.com/t1411-installing-a-bmw-muffler-repair-kit-p-n-95009000390

The nuts that were used if I recall correctly were just square nut that you slid into the receptacle. I don't recall the size.

Cages there but no nuts, mounts etc. guess I’ll try to fab something while I seek mounts.

Hmm I will look for “stove” nuts (square) and go from there. Thanjs

The nuts are stainless and available from the dealer for $2.50 each. I bought stainless M6x6mm screws and wave washers on eBay.

I just bought new allen head screws and washers from BMW (MaxBMW). Pretty inexpensive and took four days to get them. Search their fiche to get the part numbers.

Was there a fiber washer also for heat insulation?
