Title: Using one bolt for Rear Rotor?
Post by: restinthesun on August 20, 2018, 10:44:01 AM
Might be a stupid question, but I've supremely cocked up one of the bolt holes while trying to replace my rear rotor (lots of cursing, heat, elbow grease – boring story, but happy to recount for others if they need laugh).

Anyone had experience with this kind of thing? One bolt into rear rotor plus the four lug nuts enough to keep it in place? Really don't know why they seemed to think red fuckin' locktite was necessary there...

It's certainly a cheaper solution than a new final drive...

Never looked at mine but if it's anything like most cars the 2 screws are just for locating the disc while the wheel is off.  Stripped many of those and happily put the wheel back on and forgot about it with no evil
consequences.

Thanks, Chaos. Sounds like it wasn't as shit a weekend of wrenching as I thought...

Any other perspectives on this appreciated. Sounds like it might be common. Something for new wrenchers to consider.
