Title: Any experience crating and shipping crated bikes? (smaller than a K)
Post by: Mongrel on August 19, 2018, 02:19:06 PM
I have an older small bike that's a project/parts bike. It's a fairly niche bike and quite rare to see for sale in any condition, so attempts to sell locally aren't going anywhere. (a 2003 Tomos Streetmate).

As much as I hate dealing with ebay these days, it might be the only way to get it sold, but if I do go that route it will involve crating and shipping as well as (potentially) doing a sale abroad (might restrict it to Canadian buyers only, but then I'm limiting myself again). It has a clean title and registration so I don't know if that complicates things or makes them easier!

Does anyone have any experience with this sort of thing?

No direct experience but I did research the topic a couple years ago out of interest.  There are several recommended firms to use:

- TFX International
- Air Canada cargo
- thetoyhauler.ca
