Hi,
It's been a while since the gang met up at the Olde Yorke on Laird. The long Civic Holiday weekend is coming up. Any interest in getting together Friday or Saturday?
-
Friday could work for me if I can get out of a commitment I just made to rewire a friend's boat.
Any ideas for a meeting point? Personally, I am reluctant to g into TO.
-
I'm in. Looking forward to seeing Cheetos banana.
-
Rob, Can you post it up on the K100 forum? There's a few guys there that might be interested. I'm thinking Woodie & JSchara.

Hi Jim,
You know, there's a new guy in the Mississauga area (Adam M) who'd be interested to meet up. Maybe a change of venue to somewhere out in the West end could accommodate both you and he. I'm not familiar with the west end so I'd depend on others for suggestions.
-
The Mighty Gryphon, where are you located ?
-
I am about 20 miles southeast of Buffalo and I spend a lot of time in Youngstown where I work and keep my boat.
-
So guys, perhaps we should start with what day of the weekend and what time would be most convenient for you ?
I have a contract for Friday evening unfortunately, so won't be available Friday.
-
Saturday is good.
The CVMG meets for breakfast at Grenadier Cafe (High Park) at 8:00 AM (urk) Sunday. There's a couple of K's that usually show.
-
I have to work Saturday until 4pm. Doesn't look good for me. We should try for more lead time on another attempt.

Sunday or Monday then?
-
Yes, this was quite short notice TMG, we have to repeat it soon with better riding weather and longer time frame.
Going from Niagara we could always meet on the way or drop in to my place to refresh, its between QEW and 403.
However Sunday 8 AM during CVMG breakfast looks good to me.
This weekend will be extremely hot, so only good time for riding will be morning and night.
So if rbm is OK with it, I'll try to go to bed early Saturday evening :).
-
Whichever days you guys are interested in is fine with me... won't be very busy until school starts up again, and even then my teaching gig doesn't pick up until October.
-
Just got tagged to work Saturday and Sunday. Not going to be able to make it this go around.
-
Monday is a possibility for many including me, because of theCanadian Civic holiday. TMG, can you do Monday August 6th since you're busy Saturday and Sunday? If that's a no-go for many, then we can decide to forego this weekend and choose another.
Another plan to consider: "Two Wheels Better" (TWB) over on K100-forum is presently on a cross-country trek from Washington to Massachusetts and returning through Canada. On that trip, he's planning to pick up the Banner from Bert (Crazy Fox) when he reaches Mass. His return trek will take him through upper NY State I believe, which might be a good opportunity for the GTA K-bike community to meet up. We can sKribble our names on the Banner and socialize with others from the Kommunity. This is happening around mid-August to end-August, but I can't say for sure. Opinions??
-
For me Saturday to Monday is OK so you guys decide.
-
Well, the early breakfast is out for me, but we'll see what's settled on. Always a chance for the Olde Yorke another time - who says we can't do both?
-
I'm not working Monday, but the thought of being stuck in the bridge traffic at customs on Monday of a holiday weekend is not pleasant. Waits were over an hour and a half at Queenston/Lewiston Yesterday. Inching along on a bike in 90+ temperatures can be hard on man and machine.
Wish I had a nexus card.
-
I'm out with a broken wrist. Typing with my left. Sorry Adam, I'll miss tomorrrow's breakfast ...
-
In this case if only rbm and Mongrel are free and operational Monday perhaps we can meet at The Keating Channel Pub in Toronto Port area ?
It saves me some time going North :).
-
I could Uber there, or my workshop is only 15 minutes north @ 7 Copeland Street ...
-
That would be a possibility Adam. That's the pub on the Leslie spit, right? Would towards noon be a good time?
Ed, sorry to hear about your wrist. Get well soon.
-
This is a pub close to Cherry St at 2 Villiers St in Toronto Port area.
Monday at 12 would be good.

For me it's convenient trip by Gardiner, or avoiding it Queensway and Lakeshore East.
Ed, if you could Uber there it's even better.
A.

Thinking pub lunch? Could do.
I've driven past that place any number of times, come to think of it.
-
The Keating Channel Pub was the destination for Mods & Rockers ride last 2 years. It's back to The Duke this year.
-
So, are we on then?
-
I'm planning on being at The Keating Channel Pub at 12:00 on Monday (tomorrow). Hope to see others there (Adam M, Mongrel, Bocutter Ed).
-
Confirmed
-
YES.
-
See ya there for
breakfast lunch.

Thank you guys for a very interesting and pleasant meeting.
I was feeling too good and relaxed during it, so got punished with a short but quite strong downpour on the way back.
I didn't expect a rain coming from the west had to wait under 427 viaduct with some HD guy to pass the strongest rain.
In a few minutes it lighten up and we continued our trip. I was surprised with not being soaked, but weather protection is better than expected and a bike felt very steady during rain and strong winds. I'm really impressed with it.
I hope you were OK on a way home.

I got home just before the rain, but yes one of the first time the K really impressed me was a time in the first year when I was caught in an absolutely torrential downpour. I never had any question about the bike's stability - never even thought about it, which was truly impressive when I realized that later.
