Title: Brake disc change
Post by: Kudlaty on July 06, 2018, 12:19:22 PM
Hi,
Need to change my brake discs and I have found some discs but without holders/rotors (just disc). if I take off old disc from rotor can I use some standard bolts to pin new disc to old rotor or do I have to buy some special bolts? anyone any experience in this matter?

Regards
Jakub

You need to buy the bobbins, Motobins sells them I think. It depends on the model of your bike so it is helpful if you put it in the signature line, model and year.

Disc and rotor are words for the same part—the part the brake pads clamp onto to stop the bike.

Your signature has 84 K100 RS listed.  Your model year does not have floating rotors.  Can you confirm whether you have fixed rotors riveted to the carrier?  Or do you have a different front end on your bike (possibly a K100-16V or K1100) which comes with floating rotors on a fixed carrier, attached with replaceable bobbins?

HI,
no they are not floating, it is riveted to the carrier (that is the word :) I will make some photos bit later.
My brakes are pulsing that is why I want to buy new discs.
