Title: Mechanical Oil temperature guage

Hello everyone.


My oil temperature has guage has been out for a while and I was thinking of getting one of those guages that you screw on to where the oil reservoir cap goes.
Is that a universal fitting? I just don't want to get the wrong size.

Was this something a previous owner had installed? I don't recall hearing or reading where a K-bike had an OIL TEMP gauge.
Oil pressure gauge: would be an aftermarket gauge install,
Water Temperature may be an optional factory gauge or inst cluster lamp, depends on what year and options available when built.
Oil pressure low pressure switch for inst cluster lamp is standard on all K-bikes.

Sorry. My bad. I thought the red temperature light on the cluster would come on if the bike is overheating for whatever reason.?
What would cause a low or high oil pressure on the k75?

if you're talking about those gauges that screw into the oil fill plug they won't work.  Not a straight shot into the sump, others have tried to improvise a dipstick there in lieu of the sightglass, crank gets in the way.

The engine will certainly overheat without adequate oil or oil pressure but it is likely to severely breakdown before—or simultaneously with—the temperature bulb's lighting up.

There is one warning light for coolant overheating; it has a thermometer-in-water symbol next to it. There is a different warning light for oil pressure; it has an oil can symbol next to it. The oil light and alternator warning lights are activated when the ignition is On but the engine isn't running. The coolant temperature light isn't activated until the engine overheats. If the bike's systems are in good condition, the fan will be activated before that happens and the engine will remain at an appropriate temperature.
