Title: Trouble starting, suspect fuel pump (video)
Post by: frankenwing on April 10, 2018, 06:53:34 PM
Well today my K75 is refusing to start. It'll just barely start to fire but then give up. Couldn't figure out what the issue was. But then i started to notice a little fuel leakage out of the top of my gas tank. Odd. So i pull the cap assembly off, look around, try to start it and i find that the fuel pump is spraying fuel through the seams. I'm no expert but i'm pretty sure its not supposed to do that.

Bad fuel pump then?

Could be something is blocking the flow as well.

Yup Turns out there was something clogged in the fuel filter. Blew it out, hooked it all back up and it was running again. But I think because of the back up it hurt the fuel pump a little bit. It’s still spraying out of the seam, just not as much. Ordered a new pump and filter to be safe.

Can you tell us how old the pump was and was it an OEM unit?
