Title: Best brake pads?

Hello all. It's time for the old gal to get new front brake pads but first I want to get some info. on the subject from you guys, if possible
Are organic pads "gentler" on the discs than semi-metalic or sintered? Do organic pads stop well for non-racers? I think I've got ceramic pads in there now, (from  the P.O.). They have stopped good and have lasted for many miles but have a tendency to grab a bit at low parking lot speeds plus they are hard to find.
I want to try to preserve the rotors as much as possible but I also want pads that wll stop the bike quickly when needed. Do I need to choose one or the other?
Any knowlegable suggestions will be appreciated.

greetings...

i have used ebc kevlar for many years and many miles... exclusivly on 3 motobricks way over 100k each... never had stopping or rotor wear problems...

sintered are known to wear rotors...

ride dangerously...

+1 on the Kevlar.  I have used sintered on the family bus, and they eat rotors.  Kevlar organic on the bricks are dirty(not sure if they're worse than others), but stop well, seem to be pretty easy on the rotors, and last a reasonable amount of time.  Combined with stainless braid brake lines they have massive amounts of grab, but are still controllable.

Downside if any is that if I don't use anti-squeal they have a tendency to let everyone know I'm stopping at low speed.

For a commuter, they're fine. They squeak much less than the BMW OEMs I pulled off my bike, but they have considerably less bite, and, though I don't ride my bike hard, I have a feeling they won't stand up to brake fade. Worth considering though, because the price is unbeatable, and they're easy to change if you really don't like them.

brakes are pretty important to me.  when i need to stop, i want to STOP NOW.  i care far more about that, than how long consumables like rotors and pads last or how much they cost.


I like the sintered EBC HH's.  the "FA" version for the K75S's, the "EPFA" version for the K13S.


I have 2k street miles and 2 track days on the K75 EBC FA's.  work great and no discernable rotor wear.

+1 for the EBC, had them on several sport bikes (ZX14 and ZRX1200), they did great when Needing to brake and or emergency braking.
