hi my K75 is USA spec so the low beam is always on i know the euro spec the switch is On /Off for low beam.
My question is their a way to modify the existing switch from always on to On/Off?

According to the schematic for the '86 K75 (https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B3UPbNZRyr1raHpPeUpUeGkxM2M), the low beam should not come on simultaneously with the high beam. Check out the switch matrix for the left hand controls. Power is delivered on White/Yellow Pin 56. In lo, power gets sent to Yellow pin 56B. In hi, power gets sent to White on pin 56A. Never is power sent to both 56B and 56A at the same time.
Is your switch in good condition? Have you disassembled and cleaned it at all? Has a previous owner installed a headlight relay?
The difference in USA to Euro spec should be the inclusion of an On/Off switch on the right hand controls AFAIK.

I think the OP wants to run without lo-beam in daylight, in which case he'd need Euro switches.

I think he wants to run in stealth-mode. He could just power the low beam with a relay and a rocker switch on the dash if he wants to go dark.

Yes kinda the lamp im running now has a halo that’s always on so no need for the low beam also on.
Yes that was my plan B , add a switch on the bars and add a relay, i was just checking if i could keep the OEM switch ..

Break the wire for the low beam(I can't recall right now if it is white or yellow) and insert a SPST switch that can handle 10A. You will be able to run with no lo beam, but still flash the hi if desired or needed. At night, flip the switch for the lo and things should work as normal.

I think I might do the mod I suggested on my bike. I have daytime running lights, so I can save the low beam filament for night time riding. Changing that bulb on any faired brick is a royal PIA!

If you check the 9-way connector on the right hand side under the tank, you should see a jumper wires between pins 3 (Green/Black) and 4 (White/Yellow) on the switch cluster side of the connector pair. You will have to pull the clear plastic shroud out of the way to look. If so, this is the modification for North American models that functioned to give DLR. You could cut this wire and install the switch there. It would be a cleaner modification.

Rob, Cutting the jumper looks like it kills both lo and hi beams. My mod's idea is to still have the high beam available during the daytime to flash at other drivers using the left hand combination switch. Might even make the flash more useful in that it flashes to hi from a dark bulb.

The high beam flash function on the LHS switch assy is powered directly from the LSR via a green/blue wire,
so it's always available as long as the engine is running.
