Title: small breather tube
Post by: richarddacat on March 06, 2018, 07:56:04 PM
During a TBS on my K75 I notice my fan never came on as it heated up. So I took the radiator off and sure enough the fan is shot, barely turns, not free and wouldn't run with a battery hooked up.

Anyway, I saw this small breather, I'm guessing but it had a rotten rubber cap over it. Thought this was strange, IF it isn't a vent what is its use?

that vent should be capped off, BMW was experimenting with some emissions plumbing that didn't work very well so that cap is the accepted solution.

While you are there it would be a good idea to clean the fuel sensor connector with DeoxIT. I also smear heavy silicone grease around the plug to try and keep the road crap and water out.
