Title: New guy here. 1985 K100RT
Post by: woodgeek on January 29, 2018, 11:45:51 AM
Hi guys,
I just bought a 1985 K100RT for $300. I did a VIN search and it hasn't been titled since 2000. It needs a lot of work to get it running. I hope the engine is sound. I'll start a new thread and update everyone as I work through things.

Thanks! My goal is semi-custom scrambler or cafe build. I’ve ordered a round headlight and mounts. I’d like to lose the factory gauge pod but I need to look at the options in depth. I’d like a motogadget but that is too much $$$ for me. I found a seat on eBay. I need to order left and right switchgear as these are frozen and the plastic has dry rotted. I want to paint the body a matte dark green and black out the engine, fork sliders and other aluminum bits. Then I want to get some scrambler-type tires. At least that’s the plan right now. Not sure if it sat inside or out but the switchgear plastic is toast and the seat is falling apart.

That bike is a good candidate for a cafe strip-cut-n-bob.  Looks to have lots of damaged plastic.  Don't toss that old seat pan, I think that's a Corbin with the passenger backrest, may have some value on fleabay.

Lots of damaged plastic for sure. Thanks for the tip, I'll save the seat pan.
