The installation on my fuel pump wires is cracking and leaving too much of the bare wire exposed for my comfort. Also, the wire at the pump end ring terminal has been over-flexed and a strand or two may have broken. I don't want this to break free.
I could not find wire with insulation rated specifically for in tank use. Teflon seems to have the very good oil/ gas resistance. I am planning on replacing the OEM wires with:

14 awg teflon coated. I will also use some sections of teflon tubing to encapsulate the soldered joints.
Anybody have alternate suggestions?

14AWG sounds a little heavy. I would suggest nothing larger than 18AWG. You could probably get by with 20AWG.

I've bought 16 AWG Silver Plated PTFE teflon (R) Wire Assortment (https://www.ebay.ca/itm/16-AWG-Silver-PTFE-teflon-R-Wire-Assortment-25-feet-19-strand-made-in-USA-/382334633004?hash=item5904eb842c) (25 feet 19 strand) from Ebay and used it on a pump repair with success. You'll need to use silver solder to connect up to the gas-tight passthrough. Also, crimp and solder the ring terminals to the other end. You can leave them bare or cover in shrinkwrap. You'll need to remove all the old solder from the lugs and clean up with copper braid before soldering on the new wires. Use short 1/2" sections of heat shrink to bind the wire pair together into a cable.
