Title: Shot in the dark here. Please help.
Post by: slickbrick on November 04, 2017, 05:48:08 PM
I dont mean to take up space or be a nuisance. But I am trying to build a custom floating brake rotor using what used to be the solid rotor for one bike to be the new carrier for the floating track off another bike.

So what I have been hunting for is replaceable rotor bobbins that might fit the job. And I notice the k1100lt and other bmws happen to have factory replaceable disk bobbins. I wonder if they might be the size that I need for my motorcycle. I understand if this goes silent. But if somebody happened to know the inner diameter of those buttons. I would be very grateful. These ones are 16mm (just under)

Not sure what the size of the BMW parts is (I don't have them anymore) but I have bought stainless replacements with inner diameter 8.85 and aluminium 5.75 mm. Outer diameter is 14 mm nominal diameter, with 6 mm to the groove for the clip. This is for a K1100RS.

Thank you. Thats what I meant. Ok so they're the standard 14mm kind (works for a lot of bikes but not mine unfortunately).... The outer diameter I figure is the actual outer edges of the thing (close to 20mm). But we're on the same page irregardless. 14mm is the other kind. The ones i have are 16mm (which I guess is strictly old suzuki fitment.)
