Hi. After assembling my K100 - 1984 it wont start...narrowed Down to no fuel after FPR... running the fuel pump with hose in a can - before the FPR delivers plenty of fuel and more pressure than I Can hold with my thumb. But after the FPR there is nothing... all hoses are New and applying vacuum to the FPR shows no leaks?? Is there a Way to test it before buying a New? The Bike ran before I took it apart :-/....

How many kPa does your thumb indicate as the current pressure?

Ok ... Got it ... you are saying that the FPR will not send fuel through if the pressure is insufficient? Just read in another post how much fuel the pump is supposed to deliver in a certain amount of time.... and thought it was ok

No, I'm asserting that thumb pressure isn't an accurate method of measuring fuel pressure. Get a gauge and follow procedure. This isn't a donkey cart you are trying to get working.

Kind of a dumb question, but, are you sure you put the fuel regulator hoses on correctly? IF the fuel pump is pumping into the FPR backwards, you will get nothing out of it. The FPR is a one way valve. :dunno2:

I am guessing you have the pump drawing from a container of fuel, pumping it into the regulator, and the return line of the regulator is sending fuel back to the container.
In this scenario, the pressure between the pump and the regulator should be about 2.3-2.5 bar. There should be no pressure in the line from the regulator to the container.
Pressure should be measured with a gauge connected to a tee in the line being tested. If you don't have a gauge, a crude reading can be had by putting your thumb over the branch of the tee. On the pressure side you will feel pressure, on the return side there will be none.

Ok Thanks -the fuel pump is almost brand New - taken from a running k100. I sure do feel pressure before the regulator and none after the regulator - and no fuel there as well.
And I am sure the lines are connected the right Way - although I will give it an extra look.
Will get a gauge - found a pretty cheap one that also allows to measure vacuum .

If you just have the pump and regulator connected you should see the full flow of the pump coming out of the return line from the regulator. If not, the pump will be straining against the obstructed regulator.
If what you say is correct, it sounds like you have a bad regulator. Are you sure you have it connected properly?

Thanks - I will sure take a look and check connections. Have a running K100 where I Can borrow the regulator from - just hoped I did not need to remove airbox.... on two bikes ;-)
Hope I get the time tomorrow after work.

I am lost ...
Got a New regulator... and a meter for fuelpressure.... the fuel send it out of scale as it only goes to 100 kpa.... but I am sure the pressure is there as one of my New hoses in the tank burst open because of pressure!
Did a Reading on the vacuum - about 15-20 in-hg... but the needle bounces up and down.
And a picture of the regulator mounted...and still no fuel through....

At least I have a spare regulator...
Once again Thank you...

Be sure the fuel tank hoses high-pressure, submersible fuel injection hoses fixed into position with the correct clamps fully tightened. The fuel hoses outside the tank should be high-pressure fuel injection hoses with the correct clamps fully tightened. If they aren't as described, replace them.

Yeah - Thanks.
Did change everything after it bursted open. The outside ones are AN hoses - also used for hydraulics.

I cant't see shit on my iPhone, but I gather, from what I can see, my initial suggestion was correct and you had the hoses hooked up wrong? Yes?
So is it running? And if so what was your conclusion? It is important to post resolutions to the forum!? :popcorm

Yeah- Thanks - it is running - really great!
I had hooked the regulator up the right Way ..... but mixed the Lines from the fueltank...
I was so focused on the regulator...
Thanks
