Title: Exciter bypass options ?
Post by: Tricked919 on October 02, 2017, 11:03:28 PM
Just finished my build and went out for the first real ride... 10 minutes in, it just died. No response from battery, wouldn't restart. After doing some homework, apparently I have the perfect recipe for an "exciter light" problem... I'm not very excited. Here's what I have worth mentioning...

All new controls wired and working perfectly.
A BEP 3.0 with the factory harness plugged in but NOT wired up gauge to the gauge yet. I have a KOSO digi universal gauge that I'm slowly working on extending the harness for to reach the BEP placement under the tank. I was hoping to ride the bike before I got the gauge wired up.
Lastly, I'm learning that the Lithium battery I loved for fitting under my seat cowl may not be loved as much by my bike (or charging issues)

I'm looking for a way to bypass this "exciter". Is there an easy way for a guy who knows how to wrench but hates electrical stuff to fix? A friend suggested tapping into the power going to the coil pack to the exciter.

Please help! You guys saved my butt on the blinker buzz!

THANK YOU!!
