A word of caution about this vista: The forest service flyer says that the back route is a gravel road that is passable by car. That may be true but the road is incredibly silty. So much so that your ABS will engage if any brakes are used so you essentially have no brakes whatsoever and only have engine braking to slow you down.
I made it about three miles in before turning around when I came to this hill. Backing down the hill I had no brakes due to the silt and the ABS engaging. I had to turn the bike off in order to kill the ABS and back down the hill without dropping the bike.
Probably doable on a dirt bike or dual sport but certainly not a good route for an ABS-equipped street bike.
