I am trying to repair a broken fuel sender unit on my 84K100RS,(the plastic one) have tried several adhesives the latest being a JB weld product. Nothing seems to work, the unit itself cannot be replaced at least here in Australia. Without a solution this bike is destined to be an expensive white elephant for me. Thanks if anyone can help, cheers David

Post some pictures of the part in need of repair. Then an inmate might be able to come up with a solution.

It case you can't fix the sender, I wonder if a later tank swap is possible. I know the early ones were secured by a bolt, but besides that does any one know whether a conversion is possible with minimal changes. I'm wondering what is wrong with the sender that would cause non operation of the k100? so far I don't see it stated in this thread.
could be very obvious to everyone but me :D

Sender also supplies power to fuel pump & prevents fuel pissing out the bottom, yes tank change I have considered but make that last option

Try the BM shop, he is hard to get on the phone as he is a one man show. Might have to try multiple times, if you are unsuccessful in contacting him let me know and I'll ride down there.

oh I see it now, I thought at first that was a clamp type.
is that some form of plastic? if that is plastic then you can try to reweld it. you need to find out what kind of plastic it is.
you can reweld it all or you can reweld enough to provide strength and structure and use plastic epoxy (Loctite?) to fill in the rest.
the process is similar to metal welding... I suggest you test it out on something first til you are comfortable doing it. its a pretty handy skill for other things.
suggest to use a jig to hold it in place then weld away. pls watch the second link for safety considerations also.

i didnt know what it was called... :yes but after looking online, i think its called a compression fitting. a cobbled visual is attached.
i hope dbarcle1 can fix it.
