Title: 1985 K100 RS throttle bevel hammered......
Post by: uhoh7 on September 14, 2017, 02:31:47 AM
Early 85 K100RS. It's got the old style throttle cable. you feel bump bump as the little gears on the bevel gnash. It does work, but I'd love to make it work right.

Can you still buy throttle tubes with the little gears on them?

or what else can i do?

It's the 8mm, but i would kill for the correct part numbers. Now I see there are a bunch of different ones.....

I'm not interested in doing the new (post recall) throttle cable at the moment, I just want the right cams and tube for this one :)

Check Bob's BMW parts microfiche on line and call your local Beemer dealer....see if they can get one.

Are the gears not engaging fully, or loosely?   If so, you may be able to loosen the lever assembly and move it out on the bar ~ 1-2 MM to take up the lash.
