hi from newcastle australia i just aquired old 85 k100 and will try and make a cafe come racer out of her will post progress as it happens.

being a fan of older beemers i do have several cars i found the bmw k100 in shed been stored 6 years so love at first sight and now time to spend few moments playing.
my job is restoring older cars so hopefuly will help with build i had a audi allroad bi turbo sitting around so started making a turbo setup on her and with a bit of reserch and ringing around just slapped one up on std audi boost 7 lb so tunning should be fine for low boost.i have got the exhaust out rear of back seat thing i am making and have fired her up sounds like old honda 750 quite nice really was amazed.i been doing of night after work for last 8 days so will put pics up as go.will be painting her same as my e39 msport sherwood green.

Is that a recycled muffler skin acting as a shield over turbo?
Curious what you utilized to provide oil feed pressure, on the block (they are fairly void of extra pressure ports and pressure sender is pretty low and restrictive for a tee arrangement - I've been playing with that on my project).
I can't see from the angle of your shots but it appears the oil drain back forward into the valve cover rubber might be fairly level? If so, drainage may suffer going up steep grades. If that does occur, there are clever ways to mitigate the ensuing smoke and/or cartridge seal damage, including an internal check valve/ tee arrangement into the suction bell towards oil pump (RB design) that provides positive suction into drainage hose. That method requires some balance of sizing and check valve crack rating in order to work properly, but all hidden & internal.
Are you going to increase fueling potential?

at the side of head there are two small welsh plugs beside the cams i driled small 1/8 hole in centre of bottom plug and screwed in self tapper and used side cutters to pry out leavering of the side of head came out easy ond clean i used grease on drill bit to colect the drill filings.
then just run the turbo return with snog fit tube with either o ring or sealer.
the standard t gauge adapter was used for oil to turbo running small line to help with correct pressure as not to flood turbo oil sender was placed at bottom of t piece will post pics up tonight

yes it is the skin of std muffler i cut out the part with the bmw info and desighn rules looks like was std lol.
as far as extra fuel if kept under 7 pound boost fuel should be fine and no need for intercooler as air temp arnt greatly affected at low boost if i want to up boost will use aftermarket fuel sys and get tuned and plum in intercooler

That certainly works, but I'm just not happy having the tee hang down in that area where a rock might spoil your ride in a messy way. I figure I'll transition the metric port into a steel 90 fitting/ tube over closer to the cartridge, plus rewire the pressure sender to reside in that area. My cartridge will not mount unlike yours, but slightly higher and inboard (battery relocate into tail)

point taken i will make small gaurd for it and avoid rocks

tonights task is to make a rear gaurd as our transport rules to get rego is needs rear gaurd which i wasnt going to make so quick look on net found couple floating types fixed to diff so i will use the other half i cut for front one and see what i come up with,pics in morning

update on rear still waiting on led bullet light so carnt finish back of yet but managed to make rear gaurd mount also used for number plate and also found bit of holey stainless so made lower front stone gaurd as mentioned

week 2 no bars no tail lights lucky got lots to complete so started on dash which making from my old rear gaurd will try finish on weekend will use tablet and apps for speedo gps extra a start button small tacho and volt temp gauge will mount from forks back over tank

worked on dash but again carnt continue till get long awated bars to complet so started on seat useing the foam from orig and sicaflex to my seat bace and sica makes a good shape finisher if spread corectly.and foam cuts neat and smooth if use electric knife.will post up pics of seat progress tomorrow.

well my brown swade jacket i got from vinnies shop for 10 dollars now my seat cover i am trying to build this um creation cafe racer under 2000 au dollars so far it ows me

the yellow is made from paint shop it is gold really as simmons wheels were painted in and yes i sprayed from gun

yaa handle bars showed bit of mission fitting levers over had to run a 1 inch wood drill up the hole so could get on but all good.only problem is were to find tacho wire but will hunt it down
