Just purchased my first but possibly not my last K100. i thought i would introduce my self. After being pipped to the post on 2 other K100s i lucked out with one from Scotland which is in amazing shape.
so ive just bought a 1986 K100RS in black.
my plan is to strip it down (sorry BMW Purists) and sort of cafe racer it but not quite i still want it 2 up and with a comfy seat and riding position! after years of riding naked sports bike i want something i can go out and hammer the miles again around Europe. so its very much going to be a project (DONT TELL THE WIFE!) this will be done concurrently with the electric motorcycle im building from a Yamaha FZ6n-S2 so progress wont happen quick.

You'll fit right in here. :clap: How about some photos of the bike before it undergoes this innovative conversion, so the purists can light candles in front of their monitors?

Kris how did you know tiger poking was my second favourite hobby after bike building.
after reading the Cafe post i must admit i think all the comments on the fact the Ks are rapidly becoming classic are true but the valuable ones will be 16v ABS models not my 8v Non-ABS. My "Cafe" chop up may not be the best way to describe it as i wont be making non-reversible changes with some cleaver engineering and carbon fibre parts (i should gain far more weight reduction than hacking off the tail and removing the fairing not that it really will make much difference on a 260Kg bike i just like a more stripped out look) i intent to keep all that classic plastic for potential restoration in a few years when the UK officially recognises it as a classic (7 years time).
The pictures will be coming up soon i just want to give it a good spit and polish first and ill add some scketches for the planned design but it should be some kind of streetfighter/cafe mix up
any UK people have a belly pan they would like to loan me so i can make a mold for a carbon firbre replacement (and get a carbon belly pan in return)???
