All the British marques published parts catalogues, highly recommended for ordering parts. Did BMW do the same, or only the microfiche available only to dealers?
Tired of going to some web site and wondering what BMW called a part just to search for, order the correct piece, IF it's even available.
Sorry, I'm used to having the parts book in hand when I shop.
Odd that I can still order 50-year old parts by number and can't find 25-year old parts. Maybe that's why the Brits won the BoB?

Moto Bins UK have parts books. https://motobins.co.uk/bmw-parts.php?

greetings...
printed each page of the fiche for each model and year... turned out to be a binder 5 foot wide...
ended up taking a photo of each page and put it on a thumbdrive...
looks just like the realoem pages pages...

I have bookmarked the MAX BMW online parts fiche. I use it to see how much I can save by buying used on eBay or getting equivalent non-BMW parts. I can't see where it is less useful than a hard copy, and it's better because it shows current
prices gouging, and availability.

Then there is RealOem which not only tells you the part number for your bike, but interchangeability with other years and models which helps if you are searching eBay:
http://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/select?product=M&archive=1 (http://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/select?product=M&archive=1)
The downside, of course, of Real Oem is that it requires you to enter your model and last 7 of the serial number. That may be a problem because BMW may not have them in the same place as your classic British bikes.

It would help to know in which section to look. Where the hell do they list the breather tube? Can't seem to find it in "engine", or "intake". If I search for parts by model I get all manner of spurious results.

go to
http://www.maxbmwmotorcycles.com/fiche/DiagramsMain.aspx?vid=51747&rnd=07242017
enter k100 in the "model" window
click on engine
scroll down a couple to fiche titled "engine block mounting parts"
click on that

if you search under model k100rs 1992 the fiche throws up some weird looking pipe with a different part #
if you search under earlier model k100rs 1984 - 1989 then it returns the part number in my post above
which is
11 15 1 460 480[/size] VENT HOSE

That's only because the '92 uses the weird-looking pipe with a different part #. :giggles

That's the one! I see it listed sometimes, about $45. But, it's always out of stock.

Depends on which Number 9 you pick, Blitz. MAX BMW shows it right now.
